Richard Pacitti Reenty and Transitional Center
The Re-Entry and Transitional Center team mission is to provide returning citizens the support and services that will help them succeed upon return to their communities. Our goal is to break the cycles of incarceration and reduce recidivism. We do this by providing access to re-entry services; workforce development; shelter/temporary housing; education/training programs; support providers; mental health support, drug treatment and other supportive services; and a map of how to navigate the transition back home.
Daily Responsibilities include:
- Deliver and coordinate re-entry efforts for birth certificates, foods stamps, MassHealth, Mass, DOR child support services, toiletry bags, etc…
- Coordinate workshops and services with community partners
- Coordinate transportation for returning citizens to home, parole office, or a residential treatment program
- Residential placements via sober houses/halfway houses, parole and probation advocacy
- Coordinate monthly Discharge Panel for individuals 90 days to release with our community partners
- Provide workforce development training and job placement
o Culinary Arts Programs
o Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Training
o Resume and cover letter writing
o Interviewing techniques
o Cultivate new employment partners and employers
o Introduction panels with trade unions
- Coordinate job fairs and referrals to MassHire Downtown and MassHire Boston
- Facilitate classes for Community Ground Institute (CGI)
- Strengthening the family unit
o Facilitate Nurturing Father’s and Breakthrough Parenting programs
- Engage family members of participants of the Family Matters program and provide referrals to services, as well as coordinates give-a-ways
- Provide case management services for individuals participating in Family Matters
- Provide follow-up services to returning citizens and their families for one year post release
