March 31, 2016This video provides viewers with a detailed introduction to the primary function of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department as mandated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts – ministering to the care, custody and control of inmates and detainees within the Suffolk County House of Correction and Nashua Street Jail.
In this video, Suffolk County Sheriff Andrea J. Cabral and members of her Command Staff and Training Academy offer in–depth insight into the process of classification, programming and rehabilitation that begins for each inmate and detainee upon arrival.
Also examined is the constant and comprehensive training that is undertaken by the Department’s custody and non–custody professionals, which helps to insure that individuals incarcerated in Suffolk County return to their communities better prepared to lead more positive and productive lives.
