In observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, the full one-hour program is dedicated to highlighting and tackling this alarming issue. On this special episode of Common Ground, host Seth McCoy sits down with Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley, Men’s Initiative Coordinator Craig Norberg-Bohm and White Ribbon Day Ambassador John Laing from Jane Doe Inc. Councilor Pressley, first elected in 2009, currently serves as Committee Chair for Women and Healthy Communities. Pressley discusses her work in supporting and encouraging women to speak out against domestic violence. Later, representatives from Jane Doe, a statewide coalition working to address sexual and domestic violence through education and prevention, discuss their mission: teaching young men to respect and value women.
