During the first half of the show, host Seth McCoy interviews John Tobin, Vice President of City and Community Affairs at Northeastern University. Mr. Tobin is a former Boston City Councilor from District 6 who left the city to work for Northeastern University. He discussed the most recent master plan filed in November for Northeastern that covers their plans for the next ten years. The master plan submitted to the City of Boston addresses the physical development of the college and looks at some of the benefits being offered to the community. They also discussed the growth of neighborhood business and some redevelopment within the neighborhoods of the City of Boston. Looking at politics, they discussed some of the results coming out of the recent 2014 Massachusetts Democratic Party State Convention held in Worcester.
