During the first half of the show, host Seth McCoy interviews the Food Project Executive Director Selvin Chambers and Root Crew Member Maya Greally. Mr. Chambers discussed the various community partners that make the Food Project work as well as the local farmers markets where the food is available. Root Crew Member, Maya spoke about the various community and youth programs offered through the Food Project and how they benefit inner-city children. The Food Project is an organization that has built a national model of engaging racially, geographically and socioeconomically diverse young people in personal and social change through sustainable agriculture.
