January 21, 2014During the second half of the show, host Sheriff Steve Tompkins talks with Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Zakiyyah Sutton. Zakiyyah was instrumental in creating the Sheriff’s Department’s newly designed D.A.S.H. program. The Defensive Aids in Situations of Help (D.A.S.H.) program, which is a part of the Department’s public safety outreach initiative, aims to provide women with a greater sense of confidence and security through basic physical self-defense training and instruction. This free program is offered to women aged 18 and up and the Sheriff’s Department is taking this program to various locations throughout all of Suffolk County.
