""

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins shares a light moment with former State Representative and Master of Ceremonies James Brett during Dorchester’s 8th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Brunch.

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins recently attended Dorchester’s Eighth Annual St. Patrick’s Day Brunch at the Blessed Mother Teresa Parish Hall.

The event, which raised money for the Mary Ann Brett Food Pantry at Blessed Mother Teresa Parish, included special guest speaker, Boston’s Mayor Martin J. Walsh, in addition to numerous other community members and elected officials.

In addition to the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, three people were inducted into the Dorchester Hall of Fame at the event, including Father Richard ‘Doc’ Conway, State Senator Linda Dorcena Forry and Superintendent–in–Chief William Gross from the Boston Police Department.

At its conclusion, Sheriff Tompkins spoke about the event and the cause it supports.

“I’m glad to be a part of such a purposeful event,” said Sheriff Tompkins. “The Brett Family has been an active part of this community for years and I’m glad to be able to contribute to their efforts by participating in a celebration that will benefit the Mary Ann Brett Food Pantry. This is a strong example of the power of giving back, and I salute their many efforts.”
