July 23, 2019The Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department visited the MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority) for a talk with MBTA Transit Police Chief Kenneth Green and a tour of the MBTA’s underground training facility. Sitting for their meeting with Chief Green, the SEP interns learned about the many different facets of running a safe and secure metropolitan transit system, some of the positions of employment that they could aspire to within the organization and, of course, about Chief Green himself. The underground training facility has actual MBTA train and trolley cars and buses inside replica stations to help train MBTA Police, paramedics and other members of law enforcement about how to properly respond to a multitude of emergency situations and scenarios within a real-life simulated setting.
