Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins recently attended a culinary arts showcase at the New England Center for Arts and Technology in Boston. The purpose of the event was for students of the organization’s culinary arts program to showcase their work by preparing food from various countries and cultures for members of the community.

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins recently visited the Higginson/Lewis K–8 School in Roxbury to help celebrate the 60th anniversary of Brown vs. the Board of Education. Occurring in 1954, Brown vs. Board of Education is a landmark Supreme Court case that resulted in the abolition of legal segregation in public schools.

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins recently visited the Massachusetts State House to meet with the Senate delegation representing Suffolk County and have dialogue about the Senate’s upcoming Fiscal Year 2015 Budget Recommendation. The presentation also highlighted the significant savings to the taxpayers of Suffolk County that have been realized by the aggressive fiscal program undertaken by Sheriff Tompkins’ administration, along with collaborative efforts with the Legislature.
