Members of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department visited the Brighton Division of the Boston Municipal Court to join in the annual celebration of Law Day. Enacted by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1958, Law Day recognizes the principles of government under the law, and the nation’s rich heritage of liberty and justice. Law Day celebrations take place every May in courthouses throughout Massachusetts and the United States and offer the opportunity to appreciate the law and the legal process, protect liberty, strive to achieve justice, and contribute to the freedoms that all Americans share.
