On February 12th of 2014, Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department hosted another installment of the Department’s ongoing “Directions for Corrections” community forum series. Featuring an informative discussion about the mission and functions of the following organizations operating within the Massachusetts justice system: The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, the Probation Department, the Massachusetts Parole Board and the Department of Youth Services (DYS); the event brought together a panel of experts that included: Dan Conley, Suffolk County District Attorney; Peter Forbes, Commissioner, Department of Youth Services; Ed Dolan, Commissioner, Department of Probation; Josh Wall, Parole Board Chairman.
