During the second half of the show, host Sheriff Steve Tompkins talks with Ellen Parker, Executive Director for Project Bread and the Walk For Hunger. Ellen talked about the issue of hunger, school nutrition, and promoted the upcoming Walk For Hunger event on May 4th. The Walk for Hunger attracts more than 40,000 walkers and 2,000 volunteers who raise awareness around hunger in our state, make a powerful statement about our shared commitment to help people in need. The 20-mile Walk for Hunger begins on the Boston Common, and winds through Boston, Brookline, Newton, Watertown, and Cambridge. The funds raised support over one hundred food programs in communities across Massachusetts.
