There are some very important safety tips that everyone should keep in mind when you’re on your computer at home or at school. If you ever have any questions about something that you see online, always check with an adult, your parent, a teacher or an adult friend.

Do not meet someone or have him or her visit you without the permission of your parents.

Remember that people online may not be who they say they are.Someone who says that “she” is a ” 12-year-old girl” could really be an older man or woman.

Never send a picture of yourself

to someone you chat with on the computer without your parent’s permission. Always notify an adult about who you are e-mailing or chatting with.

Never give out personal information such as your name, home address, school name, or telephone number in a chat room, on bulletin boards, or in e-mail to a stranger.
