As we close the chapter on 2024 and look forward to 2025, we celebrate the remarkable achievements and moments that defined this year for the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department (SCSD). From forging new partnerships to receiving prestigious awards and demonstrating extraordinary bravery, these stories highlight the dedication and resilience of SCSD officers and staff members. In February, SCSD expanded its collaboration with local law enforcement by deputizing members of the University of Massachusetts/Boston Police Department and Fisher College Police Department. SCSD Superintendent John McLaughlin administered the oath of office, solidifying these partnerships to enhance community safety and mutual support.
