The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department swore in twenty-two custody staff members as Deputy Sheriffs.

Held at the House of Correction (HOC), the ceremony was presided over by HOC Superintendent Michael Lally, who offered congratulations to participants with special words of appreciation for the members of the group being deputized for the first time.

“As they celebrate this moment in their careers, we’re excited for them, and I believe they’re truly excited as well,” Superintendent Lally said. “They took their own time to go through all of the classes and training. It shows their dedication, and we have great appreciation for them.”
