Boston Asian Youth Essential Service

The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department recently visited Boston Asian Youth Essential Service to present the Choice Program. Created in 2005, the Choice Program – which is offered completely free-of-charge – sends officers who have completed 40 hours of required training into schools and community centers across Suffolk County to speak with students grades 4-12, primarily focusing on middle schools. Choice officers discuss a variety of topics including bullying, peer pressure, online safety, the effects of CORI and also emphasize how making the right choices, respecting others and having self-respect can positively impact their future. For information about how you can book the Choice Program for your school, community center, or program, contact Sergeant Stacey Wood at (617) 704-6672 and sw***@sc****.org, or Deputy Tom Maguire at (617) 704-6686 and tm******@sc****.org in our External Affairs Division External Affairs Division.
