After four weeks of conversation, reflection, and skill-building, the latest women’s cohort of Mothers for Justice & Equality’s “You Matter” program concluded in July with an opportunity to put their goals into the big picture.

Led by the program’s Director of Operations Joanna Yu, the cohort brought together women at the Suffolk County House of Correction for weekly workshops focused on self-discovery, personal and professional goals, relationships, and preparing for life after incarceration. While the program provides practical reentry resources, its foundation begins
with a more personal question: “Who are you, and what do you want your life to look like?”
