The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department recently introduced Life After Incarceration, a five-week art therapy and expressive arts program designed to help incarcerated individuals clarify their aspirations, boost motivation, and envision a successful future that they can look forward to upon release. Led by Caseworker Rosemary Arias, the program is open to both pretrial and sentenced populations, providing a supportive space for personal reflection and creativity.

Throughout the program, participants are encouraged to identify their strengths and values while breaking larger goals into realistic, achievable steps by exploring options correlated to reintegration, personal growth, family, education, careers, and positive lifestyle changes.
