Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department recently held a community forum focusing on the Department of Youth Services, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts Department of Probation and the Massachusetts Board of Parole at Roxbury Community College’s Media Arts Center.

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins recently joined Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick on a tour of the New England Center for Arts and Technology in Boston. The tour, which was led by the school’s Executive Director Richard Ward, allowed Governor Patrick to speak about the expansion of job training opportunities in high–demand fields. The tour also served as an introduction to the school for the other public leaders in attendance, including former Suffolk County Sheriff and current Secretary of Public Safety Andrea Cabral.

Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department recently welcomed 31 new officers into the corrections profession, with 28 custody staff members slated to serve at the Suffolk County House of Correction and three going online in Norfolk County.
