The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department is warning citizens of a telephone scam involving a man falsely claiming to work for the Civil Process Division.

Boston – As Suffolk County continues to dig out from record breaking snow storms, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department’s Community Works Program has kicked into high gear, deploying teams of inmate workers and Deputy Sheriffs to help remove tons of snow from handicap ramps, sidewalks, crosswalks and city streets.

Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department K9 “Shadow” was recently awarded a bullet/stab resistant vest thanks to the nonprofit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. (VIK9s).

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins today expressed his support for an effort led by Senator Sonia Chang–Diaz and Representative Mary Keefe to reform sentencing laws and expand job training programs through an omnibus bill.
