The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department recently participated in a multi–industry job fair sponsored by the Asian American Civic Association (AACA) at the Doubletree Hotel in Downtown Boston. The event, which featured over twenty–six organizations from various industries, enabled hundreds of members of the community to network with employers and learn more about various job opportunities.

The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department recently invited Judge Lawrence McCormick, Presiding Justice of the Charlestown Division of Boston Municipal Court, and a group comprised of court officers from Boston’s Drug Courts for a tour of the Nashua Street Jail.

Sheriff Tompkins, Department Host Treasurer Grossman At House Of Correction Tour

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins recently hosted Massachusetts State Treasurer and Gubernatorial Candidate Steven Grossman for a tour of the Suffolk County House of Correction. Along with Sheriff Tompkins, the tour was led by Superintendent of the House of Correction Yolanda Smith with Assistant Deputy Superintendent Rachelle Steinberg and Assistant Deputy Superintendent Major Richard McCarthy.

Sheriff Tompkins, Department Host Delegates From Afghanistan

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department recently hosted a tour for several Afghani delegates in addition to Associate Justice Robert Cordy and Administrative Attorney Pamela Lyons from the Supreme Judicial Court, and Krystal Lance from World Boston – the organization that helped to arrange the visit.

Sheriff Tompkins Lends Support To Boston’s Gun Buyback Program

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins recently visited Dr. Loesch Family Park in Dorchester to join Boston Mayor Martin Walsh, the Boston Police Department’s Commissioner William Evans and Superintendent In–Chief William Gross, and a host of clergy members, community activists and residents in support of the City of Boston’s new gun buyback program, “Your Piece for Peace.”
