Sheriff Tompkins Visits MA State House To Address Suffolk County Senate Delegation

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins recently visited the Massachusetts State House to meet with the Senate delegation representing Suffolk County and have dialogue about the Senate’s upcoming Fiscal Year 2015 Budget Recommendation. The presentation also highlighted the significant savings to the taxpayers of Suffolk County that have been realized by the aggressive fiscal program undertaken by Sheriff Tompkins’ administration, along with collaborative efforts with the Legislature.

Sheriff Tompkins Joins Higginson/Lewis School Celebration Of Brown Vs. The Board Of Education’s 60th Anniversary

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins recently visited the Higginson/Lewis K–8 School in Roxbury to help celebrate the 60th anniversary of Brown vs. the Board of Education. Occurring in 1954, Brown vs. Board of Education is a landmark Supreme Court case that resulted in the abolition of legal segregation in public schools.

Sheriff Tompkins Presents At La Alianza Hispana’s 6th Annual Women Of Courage Awards

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins recently attended La Alianza Hispana’s 6th Annual Women of Courage Awards luncheon at the Hyatt Regency in Boston. Sheriff Tompkins participated in the event in demonstration of his support for the event and to help present one of the Women of Courage Awards.

Sheriff Tompkins Visits MAMH To Speak About Mental Health And Substance Abuse Care

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins recently sat before members of the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Association for Mental Health (MAMH) to present information about the Department’s addiction recovery and mental health programming, and also to discuss the need for more mental health care and recovery programs beyond the walls of the institution.
