SHERIFF TOMPKINS ADDRESSES STUDENTS AT THE PERKINS COMMUNITY CENTER ABOUT DRUG ABUSE, BULLYING

BOSTON – Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins visited 75 young scholars at the Perkins Community Center in the J.A.B. (Jump Across Barriers) Step, INC. program. This nonprofit organization pairs together young entrepreneurs, recent college graduates and previous student–athletes to help children in the Dorchester community “strengthen self–esteem, self–motivation, and self–discipline.”

SHERIFF TOMPKINS INCREASES SNOW REMOVAL ASSISTANCE TO BOSTON

BOSTON – Suffolk County Sheriff Steven W. Tompkins has ordered an increase in snow removal assistance to the City of Boston through Monday’s holiday. Starting today, seven Community Works Program (CWP) crews made up of 25 inmates will be deployed along with 36 cadets currently assigned to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department Training Academy.

SUFFOLK INMATES, DEPUTIES FAN OUT TO HELP WITH SNOW REMOVAL

Boston – As Suffolk County continues to dig out from record breaking snow storms, the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department’s Community Works Program has kicked into high gear, deploying teams of inmate workers and Deputy Sheriffs to help remove tons of snow from handicap ramps, sidewalks, crosswalks and city streets.
